The Scandinavian philosophy of Hygge (simplicity, coziness and gathering), a one room schoolhouse, and a long history of multi-generational farming were just some of the influences that inspired us as we crafted Stonyslope Brewing Company’s brand identity.
We found the solution to our client’s blend of influences within the runic alphabet.
Head-on, the brand mark paints a picture of the Albertan horizon—a beautiful sunset, the Rocky Mountains, and the Elbow River—A scene depicting their heritage in the province. When tilted on its side, it draws on its Nordic influences through the use of runes to spell the 'SBC' acronym.
The simplicity of the design makes it the perfect brand for marketing the brand on wood, coasters and stickers, and has been known to delight recipients with its hidden meaning.
Though derived from the natural beauty of the Canadian landscape, the diversity of the colour palette also adds a touch of vintage Scandinavian mid-century flair that has perfectly complimented the aesthetic of the brewery’s interior.
Bridging the gap between physical and digital environments, the brand’s range of fonts brings a level of artistic diversity matched only by the brewery’s ever-expanding food and drink menu.
